Trace a Lost Pigeon
Racing Pigeons have a metal or plastic band which contains the information needed to trace the owner.
The Band will have information such as: IF 11 GOT 342, or AU 11 GOT 342 or CU 11 GOT 342
IF, AU or CU refer to the national organization that the pigeon is registered with. The letters such as GOT refer to the club affiliated with the national organization. 11 or 2011 is the year the pigeon was hatched. 342 is just the individual serial number which is unique when combined with the year, national organization and club affiliation.
